gem discovery fails on rubygems ~ 0.9.2

Earlier versions of rubygems used a hash instead of an array for Gem.source_index.latest_specs. As such, gem discovery raises an error on outdated versions of rubygems (< 1.1.1 at least).
Not sure if this is worth fixing.
